When evaluating quotes, it is important to understand exactly what you are paying for. To avoid
poor construction and planting it is important to be sure that the detail of the works given in
different quotes is comparable. A cheap quote may at first seem attractive but may only be cheap
because risky cost cutting measures are being employed. Van Leeuwen Green puts real effort into
developing a quote that is accurate, reasonable and takes into account all site factors to create
a high quality landscape. Some of the factors that will influence the cost of landscape construction
works are as follows:
- site preparation requirements such as leveling and rubbish removal
- access
- quality and type of materials
- specifications such as foundation strength for paving
- complexity of works
- soil preparation
- plant species, stock size and planting density
What We Provide
Detailed, itemised quotations. This allows you to budget and schedule installation over
a period of time. In addition, if you wish to obtain quotations from other contractors, you
have a detailed benchmark for comparing estimates.
If Van Leeuwen Green has designed your garden you will automatically receive a written quotation
shortly after receiving your final design plan. For small and simple projects with clear-cut
parameters (such as installation of a new irrigation system, laying new turf or a single area
of paving) we are happy to provide you with a quotation without the existence of a design plan.
However, for complex landscape works we generally do not provide quotations unless some kind of
design plan is available to use as a basis for the quote. This is because without such a plan it
is virtually impossible for all parties to be clear about exactly what works are being undertaken.
Quality workmanship and attention to detail. Our team has enormous experience and a broad
range of complimentary skills, with expertise in all areas of landscape including planting,
irrigation systems, lighting, paving and water features. We make sure that your landscape is
constructed using quality materials and proper specifications so that the landscape lasts over
time. This includes the use of plant species that are long lived and reliable and proper soil
preparation to ensure that plants look good and enjoy a long life span.
Broad range of services. By offering so many services ‘in-house’ and with a large network
of subcontractors for specialised services, we can simplify the whole process. In addition, with
such a direct line of communication between the various aspects of design, construction and
maintenance within Van Leeuwen Green, at any stage potential alterations or questions you may
have can be dealt with efficiently.
Communication and support. All Van Leeuwen green staff, from the directors to our
